WELCOME ABOARD THE ALSTERLAGUNE

We started in 2018 as a small company and have great dreams for the Alsterlagune. The owner, Mr. Celal Aksoy, has been indulging his passion for gastronomy for 30 years. His dream is to offer his guests cuisine and events at the highest level. Customer satisfaction is above all else. The committed team of 15 staff strives to conjure a satisfied smile on to the face of the guests on the Alsterlagune everyday.

OUR VISION

The Alsterlagune, right on the Alster, ensures its guests enjoy good food with an individualised, personal service. This entails giving full attention to the guests. The venue will become well known beyond the city limits due to high-quality events in the stylish ambience of the Alsterlagune. She will become a tourist magnet and be the best that restaurant guests have ever seen.

ABOUT THE OWNER

From potwasher to restaurant owner. That is perhaps the best way to describe the career of Celal Aksoy in gastronomy. Living in Hamburg for 32 years, good food and restaurants are his passion. Along with the Alsterlagune, he has owned two Asian restaurants for 13 years that he has leased out. When he got the opportunity to purchase an old event venue on the Alster, he took it. Now he was able to make his idea of an event location right on the Binnenalster a reality. The unique view of the Alster with the Alster Fountain is further accentuated by the culinary delights offered.

FRESH FROM THE KITCHEN TO THE TABLE

Typically hanseatic - that is how the Alsterlagune presents herself, with her Hamburg cuisine. Unmistakable Italian influences are however maintained. The ingredients and the fish are bought fresh every day from the Hamburg Fish Market. Meat, vegetables and fruit come straight into the kitchen of the Alsterlagune from local producers. Quality that has been relied upon for decades.

HOW THE RESTAURANT SHIP GOT ITS NAME

The Alsterlagune lies directly on the Hamburg Binnenalster, that resembles a lagoon. That is also where the name came from. The Binnenalster is one of Hamburg's most popular attractions and is easy to recognise. The combination of excellent location, calming water and the unique view to the Hamburg inner city has made the Binnenalster one of the most visited attractions in the city. Locals and tourists alike are drawn to it. The Alsterlagune as a top class restaurant does likewise, as she attracts locals and guests from all over the world as if by magic. The great view of the Binnenalster does the rest. The Alsterlagune is thus the ideal place to stop for a meal after a shopping trip or a tiring day at work. She is suitable for a nice lunch, a dinner with the family and many individually designed events. We are worth a visit in any event.
